However, if you decide to stay on the shore, you can marvel at the participants of the sailing races and the surfing competitions organised from spring to autumm.
The Blue Ribon, Balaton's most prestigious reggatta, sees as many as 700 boats setting sail on a 150-kilometer tour in an anventurous attempt to win the title and break the record set by the Nemere II in 1955. It's also Europe's longest-running lake-circling race, having been held since 1934.
